​Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder refers
to a group of symptoms observed in children who were exposed to alcohol before
birth. These symptoms range in seriousness and degree dependent upon the amount
and timing of alcohol consumed throughout pregnancy. FASD is a brain injury that
impacts the development of the baby's brain, which has significant implications
for growth, learning, intelligence, etc. It is
important to note that the damage is
permanent.
This program coordinates Multidisciplinary Diagnostic FASD Clinics, for
children and youth. Follow up support for families is also
offered.

Programs offered:
Family Coach Program - provides support to individuals parenting an individual diagnosed or suspected of a FASD.
Life Coach Program - provides intensive support to adolescent and adult individuals affected or suspected of having FASD.
Parent and Child Assistance Program (PCAP) - to address the needs and issues facing women who are using drugs or alcohol while pregnant or who have had a child affected by prenatal alcohol exposure or at risk of having a child with FASD.
Youth Coach Program - To address the needs of youth affected or suspected of having FASD through community programming.
Youth Mentoring Program - based on the Big Brother, Big Sister model; providing one on one mentorship to youth in the community.
FASD Diagnostic Clinic - to provide referrals and support needed to access assessments and diagnosis for FASD.
